History
Miss Bhutan was first founded and organized by the pioneering Bhutanese filmmaker Karma Tshering and produced by his film production and event management company, MPC Bhutan Entertainment. The first Miss Bhutan pageant was held in 2008. Tsokye Tsomo Karchung won the title becoming the first Miss Bhutan beauty queen. She took part in the 8th Edition of Miss Earth in the Philippines, Miss Young International in Taiwan, and Miss Safari 2008 in Kenya. The second Miss Bhutan contest was held in 2010 in which Sonam Choden Retty won the crown. She held the title for the longest period from 2010 to 2021 as there was a long gap between the second and third editions. The third Miss Bhutan pageant was held in 2022. Tashi Choden won the title and is the current reigning queen. She is the first national title holder to represent in the Miss Universe.
